Please anticipate at least 6 weeks while I complete your portrait. This allows sufficient time for correspondence with you, drawing, and framing.
In order to create your very own pet portrait, I ask that you send me three or four pictures with a note via snail mail or several very high quality images with a message via email. Both these addresses can be found by clicking my "Contact" page. It would be best if the pictures were clear, in focus, and taken from different angles to help capture the likeness of your pet. If you prefer, I will be happy to take pictures of pets that live locally to Lancaster, PA. Below are examples of photos that can and cannot be used to create a likeness of your pet.
Bad Photo
Good Photo
The Black Lab is too dark because of poor lighting and it lacks a defining line between his head and the rest of his body. The Siberian Husky in the back is too far away, and not in focus.
This photo has been taken with good lighting, it's in focus, and I will be able to capture nice detail because he fills the space better.
After we work together to select the best possible photo, a refundable deposit will be due to secure a place on my schedule and we will agree to a completion date of when you would like the portrait. Once the pet portrait has been started, the deposit becomes non-refundable.
When the portrait is complete, I will send you a photo of the finished drawing via email. Minor changes can be made if desired. Once approved, I will deliver your pet portrait upon full receipt of payment.
If you prefer to receive the portrait already framed, I offer a professional framing package foran additional fee. It is an attractive, protective presentation thatenhances the graphite portrait, and also matches most décor. The package includes one dark gray mat, foamcore to protect the back,a black frame, and glass, as seen in the picture to the left.
